CONGRATULATIONS CONFIRMANDI

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE

11 października (2021)

Pastor statement

Dear Parishioners,

One year ago I came to Sts. Peter & Paul as your pastor. During this time, I have formed a deep appreciation for the parish and for the wonderful people here. Your dedication and hard work have enabled this parish to care for the needs of its parishioners on many different levels; spiritually, socially, and liturgically. We, who make up this parish family, need to continue to shine as an example of Christ’s love and Care for all.

My role as pastor of this community of Sts. Peter & Paul presents many challenges.                      I am constantly seeking new ways to bring more people and attempting to meet your spiritual needs while keeping our parish financially solvent and the buildings in good condition. Recently our parish had an annual audit and I met with archdiocese representatives to discuss the results and correct several financial concerns. I want you to know that I am, as the new pastor, taking full responsibility for this. From now on we publish in bulletin our weekly donation and our new bookkeeper, Diane Cantonwine, will let our finance council members know about our expenses, that you as parishioners be aware of church finance condition. We want to show our archdiocese that we are not parish on hospice but living, strong spiritually and financially Polish- American Catholic Community.

Although this time has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, your support remains            undeterred. An incredibly dedicated parishioners as Grace Forysiak, responding to the countless needs in Sts. Peter & Paul community and beyond. Many thanks to Grace on her departure. Today, our parish is strong based upon our community of compassionate people making a positive impact in our church. Looking ahead, I am confident that our parish will continue growing even stronger as we build upon our parishioners and friend that serves   the here and now, and the future. For all your goodness and generosity, I thank you sincerely. Your help toward the parish church is genuinely appreciated. May God bless you and your family and reward your thoughtfulness and kindness always.

I cannot apologize enough for this error of lack of communication and unneeded stress.  Our Archdiocese have instituted new controls to ensure this type of error doesn’t occur in the future. Again, I am sorry and thank you for your understanding.

We ask the Lord to bless us today as we come before him who is the source of all light,  all wisdom and all blessings.

Fr. Jacek Nowak, SChr

Corpus Christi

During Tacoma weather we once again witnessed our faith in the real presence of God in the Eucharist. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone, who with great dedication joined in  preparing this celebration. As always the foundation is laid by our brave workers: Kevin Cools,  Randy Young, Staszek Glina, Wieslaw Szczepanski, Mirosław Srebro . The following parish groups deserve special thanks for setting up and decorating each station: Pastoral   Council, Rosary Society, First Communion parents  .  In song, for the glory of God, we were tirelessly led by our organists, Maher Naber and Bernard Jedraszczyk and cantor Monika Bruenn and Ewa Anucinska. Thanks to Zbigniew Kaszewicz for  the mobile sound  system.    Special thanks to our faithful highlanders for  carrying the baldachim.  We cannot omit thanking our brave altar servers and flower girls. And the   lectors, ushers, and finally the entire praying parish  community? To everyone for everything a great „May God reward you!”

Ewangelia wg św. Mateusza 8,5-11.

Gdy Jezus wszedł do Kafarnaum, zwrócił się do Niego setnik i prosił Go, mówiąc: «Panie, sługa mój leży w domu sparaliżowany i bardzo cierpi». Rzekł mu Jezus: «Przyjdę i uzdrowię go». — a idzie; drugiemu: "Przyjdź!" — a przychodzi; a słudze: "Zrób to!" — a robi». Gdy Jezus to usłyszał, zdziwił się i rzekł do tych, którzy szli za Nim: «Zaprawdę powiadam wam: U nikogo w Izraelu nie znalazłem tak wielkiej wiary. Lecz powiadam wam: Wielu przyjdzie ze Wschodu i z Zachodu i zasiądą do stołu z Abrahamem, Izaakiem i Jakubem w królestwie niebieskim».

Księga Psalmów 122(121),1-2.4-5.6-7.8-9.

Ucieszyłem się, gdy mi powiedziano: „Pójdziemy do domu Pana”. Już stoją nasze stopy Tam wstępują pokolenia Pańskie, aby zgodnie z prawem Izraela wielbić imię Pana. Do niego wstępują pokolenia Pańskie, aby zgodnie z prawem Izraela wielbić imię Pana. Tam ustawiono trony sędziowskie, trony domu Dawida. Proście o pokój dla Jeruzalem: Niech żyją w pokoju, którzy cię miłują. Niech pokój panuje w twych murach, a pomyślność w twoich pałacach. Ze względu na braci moich i przyjaciół będę wołał: "Pokój z tobą"! Ze względu na dom Pana, Boga naszego, modlę się o dobro dla ciebie.
